March Activities in French Print
Written by Rebecca Gobczynski
Tuesday, 02 March 2010 15:33

March is another busy month for French students at ACHS.

French I students will be learning vocabulary for clothing over the next few weeks. At the end, each student will have to create a powerpoint presentation of their "Spring Collection" clothing lines. Everyone will be a budding Versace or Coco Chanel!

French II students will be traveling on their field trip to the St. Louis Art Museum, Science Center and Demenil mansion and restaurant. then, they will be studying house parts and city dwellings. All students will have to present powerpoints of their own architectural designs. Maybe we have a future Frank Lloyd Wright among us!

Advanced French students will be finishing their literature series with "Cyrano de Bergerac".  It is based on the true story of a poor but honorable young swordsman with an exceptionally long nose and hot temper. Then they will break into groups and choose a story that we read this quarter. The group must write a play either using puppets or act it out themselves. Each group will have large cardboard boxes to use as backdrops.  These plays are always original and entertaining!

Flat Stanley takes 1st Grade on a Trip! Print
Written by Administrator
Sunday, 18 October 2009 13:52

You just never know WHERE Flat Stanley will go or WHO he will visit.  As our first grade Flat Stanleys travel the work we will try to drop a pin in the map and keep track of his travels.  Who knows maybe we will get pictures and postcards from all over the world!

Visit the 2009 Altamont Grade School Flat Stanley Travels Map

By the way - I think Flat Stanley might be in a little trouble here.  If I had to bet on Flat Stanley or Clint Eastwood - my money would be on Clint.
